'there is enough in this world for a man's need. but there is never enough in any world for a man's greed' - mahatma ghandi
india – a country like no other
india, country or continent?
people, land, architecture, food and language vary - from north to south, from east to west. it’s hard to find a country on this planet as diverse and colourful as india.
although people have travelled to india for a long time, the country has stayed mystic, fascinating and gloomy.
travellers to modern-day india want to escape their everyday life; they want to experience the famous beaches and mountains; they look for adventure and strong impressions and want to find their inner self and much more. everything can be found in india, but nothing is as expected.
the only thing a traveller should expect consists of the unexpected which has many forms and always strikes from very close. India’s spirit seems to capture your heart and run through your veins.
love it or hate it, but you cannot ignore india’s impact.
it is not a country that can be travelled without drawbacks, and quite a few people long for their flight back home during their stay. but nevertheless, many of them come back the following year.
the cause for India’s attraction may be found in its fascinating contrasts: it can be deserted but also overcrowded, it is a land of sweeping planes and spectacular heights. india is modern and open-minded, but also ancient and mystic. food can be heaven and hell. travelling is incredibly exciting, but also awfully tiresome.
india is far from being an easy travel destination.
it is hard to describe India with words, for they lack they country’s key ingredients: music, scents, colours, scenery, architecture and the mood which is hence created. In a nutshell, India is what you make and want it to be.
if you want to visit temples, you can choose from a dazzling variety. if your main interest is history, you can explore hundreds of fortresses, palaces, ruins, battle fields and monuments. all of them have a story to tell. if you have no plans and want to experience india in a laid-back approach, the country’s soul will confront you face to face anytime, anywhere. However, the most intense experiences can be found during a trip on a bus or a train. while this way of travelling may not always be a blast, it certainly is culturally enriching.
india is not a place that limits its appeals to your eyes. it is a place of experiences that attacks all of your senses and will therefore always be remembered. yet many more things are a part of india, e.g. diseases, child labour, tremendous poverty, religious wars, hygienic shortcomings and casteism.
india – we could fill all our homepage and more with information on this unique country. what we want to give is a selection of diverse pieces of specific information.
